GOD’S UNCHANGING PLAN OF SALVATION
Hear God’s Word (Rom. 10:17)
Believe the truth (Mark 16:15, 16; Heb. 11:6)
Repent of all sins (Luke 13:3, 5)
Confess that Jesus is the Christ (Matt. 10:32)
Be baptized for the forgiveness of sins (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38)
Upon being baptized scripturally, one is added to the Lord's church (Acts 2:47 cp. Matt.16:18; Eph. 5:25-27).
Live a faithful life until death (Rev. 2:10b; 1 Tim. 4:7, 8).
Conversion accounts with some detail: Acts 2:37-42, 47; 8:5-13, 30-39; 9:6-18 cp. 22:16; 10:6, 44-48; 16:14, 15, 30-34.
We admonish you: believe and obey the Lord (Heb. 5:8, 9).
Who will be saved? Answer: Matt. 7:21
Man’s part of God’s plan of salvation is simple and easy to find and understand. The book of Acts show penitent people obeying the gospel as Jesus taught in the gospel accounts. Consider a few verses.
♥ They repented and were baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38, 41).
♥ They believed and were baptized (Acts 8:12, 13; 16:31, 33).
♥ They were baptized (Acts 9:18 cp. 22:16; 10:48; 16:15).
It is obvious all of these followed the complete steps or plan of salvation. The natural order being: faith, repentance, confession of Christ and baptism for the remission of sins which places those then saved “in Christ,” His church (Rom. 6:3; Gal. 3:27, below) where salvation is (2 Tim. 2:10; Eph. 5:26, 27, below).
♥ Romans 6:3 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”
Salvation is only in Christ and none other:
♥ 2 Timothy 2:10 “Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.”
♥ Ephesians 5:26, 27 “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
♥ Every doctrine of man is a false way: Matthew 15:8, 9; 2 John 9.
♥ Every church of man shall be rooted up: Matthew 15: 13, 14; see also chapter 7:13-27.
All who will be saved must hear the truth and obey the truth by repenting of sins; confessing Christ; and being baptized for the remission of sins (see above Scriptures).
♥ The saved are then added to the church of Christ (Acts 2:47).
♥ The saved must then be faithful to the Lord (Heb. 3:6; Rev. 2:10).
